I am 42, and a couple of years ago I caught my reflection in a shop window and did not like the man looking back. Not the face so much as the posture. Tired. Heavier than I remembered. Older than the number. That was the start of this.
By day I am a senior advisor. I sit across from people making serious decisions and help them think clearly. Good work, and I am proud of it, but it involves a lot of sitting, a lot of coffee, and more dinners than any waistline was designed for.
By dawn I am a runner. Marathons, mostly. I started because I wanted to prove I still could, and kept going because the hour before sunrise turned out to be the best hour of the day.
The running fixed a lot. It did not fix everything. Recovery got slower every year, sleep was patchy, and a niggle in my knee became a resident. I did what most people do, which is nothing, until I got sick of it and started reading.
That reading led me to peptides, and I want to be clear about how I came to them: sceptically. The internet is full of people selling miracles in vials, and most of it is rubbish. So I did it the way I do everything else at work. I read the research rather than the marketing. I had bloods done and set a baseline before I touched anything. I started with one compound at a time, kept a log, and retested. Recovery first, then sleep, then body composition. Some of it worked noticeably. Some of it did nothing I could measure. One thing I stopped.
This site is the notebook. What I am taking, for how long, and what the bloods and the stopwatch say afterwards. What it costs. What I got wrong. I write it because two years ago I could not find a single honest account from someone like me: a working father with no interest in becoming a bodybuilder or a biohacker. Just a man who wanted to stop ageing badly.
I am not a doctor. I will never tell you what to take. I will tell you what I took, and what happened.
I am married to Sofia, who is Swedish, patient, and entirely unimpressed by my split times. We have two children who keep us humble and the house loud. My parents arrived from Europe with not much more than a suitcase and an opinion about coffee, so I grew up with one foot in each world.
What you will find here: honest writing about ageing on purpose. Peptides and the reading around them, training, recovery, and the family life all of this is actually for. Not hustle. Not hacks.
