BPC-157 and KPV Stack: Protocol, Evidence and Risks
BPC-157 and KPV together: why they are paired, the common protocol for each (not trial-established), what the evidence shows, side effects and legal status.
The short version
BPC-157 and KPV are two unapproved research peptides that are often run side by side as two separate vials. No published study, human or animal, has tested them together. Each has its own common protocol: BPC-157 at 250-500 mcg and KPV at 200-500 mcg, each injected once or twice daily for 4-8 week cycles with a 2-4 week break. That is common practice, not trial-established. BPC-157 has a handful of small human studies. FDA found no human study of KPV at all.
- No published human or animal study has tested BPC-157 and KPV given together.
- Common practice, not trial-established: BPC-157 250-500 mcg and KPV 200-500 mcg, each once or twice daily.
- BPC-157 has five small, short human studies; FDA found no human study of KPV, by any route.
- Neither is FDA-approved. Both are sold as research chemicals, and neither is on the 503A Bulks List.
BPC-157 and KPV are commonly run together as two separate vials, each on its own protocol. This page covers what each compound is, why the two get paired, the common protocol for each, what the evidence shows, and the risks. For each compound on its own, see the BPC-157 dosage page and the KPV dosage page.
US legal status - Research use only
Neither BPC-157 nor KPV has an FDA-approved product, an approved indication, or an approved dose, alone or combined. Neither is on the 503A Bulks List, so neither is currently eligible for lawful 503A compounding.
Not a studied combination
No published study, human or animal, has tested BPC-157 and KPV given together, at any dose. I found none in this site’s source registry or in either compound’s reviewed evidence. The only BPC-157 combination study I hold paired it with TB-500, not KPV. In rats with a repaired Achilles tendon, adding the two together gave nothing over either alone Biçer 2026 - Biçer O, Adanir O, Güleryüz Y et al. Effects of BPC-157 and TB-500 on Achilles tendon healing in rats: A histopathological and biomechanical study. Jt Dis Relat Surg. 2026;37(3):822-837., in the references below. That says nothing about KPV.
So there is no evidence on whether BPC-157 and KPV together do more than either alone, and no data on how they interact. Everything below is each compound’s own evidence and its own common protocol, side by side.
What each compound is
BPC-157 is a synthetic chain of 15 amino acids, a fragment of a larger protein first isolated from human gastric juice. Researchers propose it acts through nitric oxide, dopamine and blood-vessel growth (VEGF-receptor) pathways. That comes from animal and laboratory work, not people.
KPV is a three-amino-acid peptide (Lys-Pro-Val), the last three amino acids of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH). Researchers took it up because it keeps some of alpha-MSH’s anti-inflammatory effect without its skin-pigmenting action. It does not appear to act through the melanocortin receptors alpha-MSH uses Getting 2003 - Getting SJ, Schiöth HB, Perretti M. Dissection of the anti-inflammatory effect of the core and C-terminal (KPV) alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone peptides. J Pharmacol Exp Ther. 2003;306(2):631-7., in the references below, and FDA’s July 2026 review concludes its molecular targets remain unknown.
Why they are paired
The pairing comes from KPV’s side. Both sources behind this site’s KPV protocol list pairings. The clinic source, Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center, names BPC-157 among them, alongside a Thymosin Alpha-1/LL-37 blend. The other source names TB-500. BPC-157’s own protocol sources list TB-500, CJC-1295 and ipamorelin as its common pairings, not KPV.
Both compounds have also been studied for gut inflammation. KPV’s animal record centres on mouse colitis models Dalmasso 2008 - Dalmasso G, Charrier-Hisamuddin L, Nguyen HT et al. PepT1-mediated tripeptide KPV uptake reduces intestinal inflammation. Gastroenterology. 2008;134(1):166-78., in the references below Kannengiesser 2008 - Kannengiesser K, Maaser C, Heidemann J et al. Melanocortin-derived tripeptide KPV has anti-inflammatory potential in murine models of inflammatory bowel disease. Inflamm Bowel Dis. 2008;14(3):324-31., in the references below. BPC-157’s only randomised placebo-controlled trial in patients was in ulcerative colitis. That overlap is in the research topics, not evidence that the two work better together.
The same pairing also turns up inside pre-blended vendor vials. Tri-Heal combines TB-500, BPC-157 and KPV, and the KLOW peptide blend adds GHK-Cu to those three. Neither blend has been studied either.
The common protocol for each
No trial or regulator has set a dose for either compound. The protocols below are common practice, not trial-established, taken from this site’s BPC-157 dosage page and KPV dosage page. There is no combined dose or schedule; each vial runs on its own.
- BPC-157: 250-500 mcg by subcutaneous injection, once or twice daily, near the injury site when possible, for a 4-8 week cycle with a 2-4 week break. The common vial is 5 mg.
- KPV: 200-500 mcg by subcutaneous injection, once or twice daily, with injection sites rotated between abdomen, thigh and upper arm, for a 4-8 week cycle with a 2-4 week break. The common vial is 10 mg, though some sources use 5 mg.

What the evidence shows
BPC-157. A review of the tendon, ligament and muscle literature found BPC-157 studies consistently reported faster healing. They were mostly in small rodent models, from few research groups, and unconfirmed in humans Gwyer 2019 - Gwyer D, Wragg NM, Wilson SL. Gastric pentadecapeptide body protection compound BPC 157 and its role in accelerating musculoskeletal soft tissue healing. Cell Tissue Res. 2019;377(2):153-159., in the references below. The human record is five small, short studies totalling roughly 80 people:
- The only randomised placebo-controlled trial in patients gave 53 people with ulcerative colitis a BPC-157 enema or placebo. It exists only as a meeting abstract, and the confidence interval for the difference between groups crossed zero.
- The rest are uncontrolled. One is a chart review of knee injections, some combined with thymosin beta-4, in which 14 of 16 people reached by phone reported knee pain relief Lee 2021 - Lee E, Padgett B. Intra-Articular Injection of BPC 157 for Multiple Types of Knee Pain. Altern Ther Health Med. 2021;27(4):8-13., in the references below.
- Another is a 12-woman pilot in interstitial cystitis Lee 2024 - Lee E, Walker C, Ayadi B. Effect of BPC-157 on Symptoms in Patients with Interstitial Cystitis: A Pilot Study. Altern Ther Health Med. 2024;30(10):12-17., in the references below.
KPV. Cells and animals only. In mice with chemically induced colitis, KPV in drinking water reduced colitis and pro-inflammatory cytokines Dalmasso 2008 - Dalmasso G, Charrier-Hisamuddin L, Nguyen HT et al. PepT1-mediated tripeptide KPV uptake reduces intestinal inflammation. Gastroenterology. 2008;134(1):166-78., in the references below. In a second pair of mouse colitis models, treated mice recovered earlier Kannengiesser 2008 - Kannengiesser K, Maaser C, Heidemann J et al. Melanocortin-derived tripeptide KPV has anti-inflammatory potential in murine models of inflammatory bowel disease. Inflamm Bowel Dis. 2008;14(3):324-31., in the references below. FDA’s July 2026 review found no clinical study or human exposure data for KPV, by any route.
Side effects and risks
Nobody has measured side effects of BPC-157 and KPV together. What is known about each:
- BPC-157: across the five small human studies, FDA found no reported serious adverse events, but noted they were small, brief and gave little detail on safety monitoring. Headache and flatulence were the most reported events in the enema studies. FDA’s adverse-event database held three reports up to December 2025, all involving injected products; FDA could not confirm BPC-157 caused any of them. No long-term human safety study exists. See BPC-157 side effects and risks.
- KPV: FDA found no clinical studies, no human exposure data, no adverse-event reports, and no acute, repeat-dose, genotoxicity, reproductive or carcinogenicity studies. It says there is not enough data to rule out immune reactions against the peptide or aggregation, and that the potential risks of human use are unknown. See KPV side effects and risks.
Running two vials also means more injections and more chances of a mixing or dosing error. Redness, itching or swelling where you inject is covered at injection-site reactions.
Is this legal?
Neither compound is an FDA-approved drug, for any indication. Both are sold as research chemicals, not legally marketed human drugs. Neither is on the 503A Bulks List, so neither is currently eligible for lawful 503A compounding. FDA’s Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee reviewed both on 23 July 2026, and FDA staff proposed not adding either to the list. BPC-157 is also prohibited at all times in sport under the WADA 2026 Prohibited List, section S0. Running the two together does not change either compound’s status. See BPC-157, KPV and US peptide regulation for the dated detail.

Common questions
Can you take BPC-157 and KPV together?
People do run them together, usually as two separate vials, and a clinic protocol for KPV lists BPC-157 among its common pairings. But no published study, human or animal, has tested the two together. There is no evidence on whether the pair does more than either alone, or on how they interact. Each compound is run on its own common-practice protocol.
How do you dose BPC-157 and KPV in a stack?
There is no combined dose. Each is dosed on its own protocol. BPC-157 is 250-500 mcg by subcutaneous injection once or twice daily. KPV is 200-500 mcg by subcutaneous injection once or twice daily. Both run for 4-8 week cycles with a 2-4 week break. That is common practice, not trial-established, and no study has tested a schedule for the two combined.
What does the evidence show for BPC-157 and KPV?
For the combination, nothing: no study exists. For BPC-157 alone, the evidence is mostly rodent work plus five small, short human studies. Its only randomised placebo-controlled trial exists as a meeting abstract, and the result did not clearly separate from placebo. For KPV alone, the evidence is cells and mice only. FDA found no human study of it by any route.
What are the side effects of BPC-157 and KPV?
Nobody has measured side effects of the two together. For BPC-157, FDA found no serious adverse events across roughly 80 people in five small, short studies. Headache and flatulence were the most reported in enema studies. For KPV, there is no human data at all. FDA found no adverse-event reports, no toxicity studies, and open questions about immune reactions and aggregation.
Is BPC-157 and KPV legal?
Neither is an FDA-approved drug. Both are sold as research chemicals, and neither is on the 503A Bulks List. FDA staff proposed not adding either when the Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee reviewed them in July 2026. BPC-157 is also prohibited at all times in sport under WADA section S0.
Why are BPC-157 and KPV paired?
One of KPV's two protocol sources, a clinic, lists BPC-157 among its common pairings, alongside a Thymosin Alpha-1/LL-37 blend. The other source names TB-500. The research on each touches gut inflammation: KPV in mouse colitis models, BPC-157 in one ulcerative colitis trial abstract. That overlap is in what was studied, not evidence that the pair works.
