MOTS-c dosage calculator

Work out MOTS-c concentration, draw volume and U-100 syringe units. It starts on a 10 mg vial with 1 mL of water and 6.5 mg - which is 65 units - as an example; change any number.

Your vial

Printed on the vial. There is no standard size - enter what yours says.

This changes how much you draw - never how many doses the vial holds.

100 units per mL. 1 unit = 0.01 mL. This is what almost every insulin syringe sold is, in every barrel size.

Barrel size

Capacity only. A 1 mL U-100 syringe holds 100 units - the scale decides that, not the barrel.

MOTS-c dosing

The common MOTS-c protocol is 2.5-10 mg, 2 to 3 times a week is most common, with some protocols ramping toward daily dosing at higher amounts, for 4-12 weeks - common practice, not trial-established. The evidence, side effects and where each figure comes from are on theMOTS-c dosage page.

Common questions

What size vials does MOTS-c come in?

MOTS-c is sold in 5 mg, 10 mg, 20 mg and 40 mg vials - each size listed by at least one vendor or label page I checked (see the vial pages linked below). This calculator starts on the 10 mg vial as an example; enter any size.

How much bacteriostatic water do I add to a 10 mg MOTS-c vial?

There is no single correct amount: water changes how many units a dose is, not how many doses the vial holds. 1 mL makes 10 mg/mL; 1.5 mL makes 6.67 mg/mL. With 1 mL, 6.5 mg is 65 units (0.65 mL) on a U-100 insulin syringe.

How many units is 6.5 mg of MOTS-c?

It depends on the vial size and the water added. In a 10 mg vial mixed with 1 mL, 6.5 mg is 65 units (0.65 mL) on a U-100 syringe (100 units = 1 mL).

How many doses are in a MOTS-c vial?

A 5 mg vial holds 0 doses of 6.5 mg; A 10 mg vial holds 1 doses of 6.5 mg; A 20 mg vial holds 3 doses of 6.5 mg; A 40 mg vial holds 6 doses of 6.5 mg. Adding more water does not change this.

What is the common MOTS-c dose?

The common protocol is 2.5-10 mg, 2 to 3 times a week is most common, with some protocols ramping toward daily dosing at higher amounts, for 4-12 weeks - common practice described by clinic and vendor dosing guides, not a dose established in trials.

Is MOTS-c legal and approved?
