Your vial

Printed on the vial. There is no standard size - enter what yours says.

This changes how much you draw - never how many doses the vial holds.

100 units per mL. 1 unit = 0.01 mL. This is what almost every insulin syringe sold is, in every barrel size.

Barrel size

Capacity only. A 1 mL U-100 syringe holds 100 units - the scale decides that, not the barrel.

Common questions

What size vials does Tesamorelin come in?

Tesamorelin is sold in 5 mg, 10 mg and 20 mg vials - each size listed by at least one vendor or label page I checked (see the vial pages linked below). This calculator starts on the 10 mg vial as an example; enter any size.

How much bacteriostatic water do I add to a 10 mg Tesamorelin vial?

There is no single correct amount: water changes how many units a dose is, not how many doses the vial holds. 1 mL makes 10 mg/mL; 2 mL makes 5 mg/mL; 5 mL makes 2 mg/mL. With 1 mL, 1.28 mg is 13 units (0.13 mL) on a U-100 insulin syringe.

How many units is 1.28 mg of Tesamorelin?

It depends on the vial size and the water added. In a 10 mg vial mixed with 1 mL, 1.28 mg is 13 units (0.13 mL) on a U-100 syringe (100 units = 1 mL).

How many doses are in a Tesamorelin vial?

A 5 mg vial holds 3 doses of 1.28 mg; A 10 mg vial holds 7 doses of 1.28 mg; A 20 mg vial holds 15 doses of 1.28 mg. Adding more water does not change this.

What is the common Tesamorelin dose?

The FDA label: 1.28 mg subcutaneously once daily, injected into the abdomen with rotating injection sites. One reconstituted vial provides daily doses for 7 consecutive days. The approved product is dosed as the label directs and a prescriber sets the dose.

Is Tesamorelin legal and approved?

US status: FDA-approved · prescription only. FDA-approved for reducing excess visceral abdominal fat in people with HIV-associated lipodystrophy. Requires a prescriber. Grey-market vials carry the name without the approval, the quality control or the indication.
