Modern Aminos Review: Is It Legit? COAs, Lab Tests, FDA Record

Is Modern Aminos legit? No FDA warning letter and 359 lab-hosted batch COAs, but a virtual-office address, no named owner and no returns on peptides.

The short version

Modern Aminos has no FDA warning letter on record. Its testing lab, Freedom Diagnostics, hosts 359 of its batch certificates, the latest from 23 September 2026. Finnrick passed 5 of its 6 retatrutide samples; the one failure, in July 2025, was for identity. Against that, its Idaho address is a virtual office, the Wyoming company in its name sits at a registered agent, and no owner is named. Its last archived policies took no returns on peptides and treated chargebacks as fraud. The site is now login-only and showed me a bot check, so its own wording here comes from dated archive copies. I checked everything on 3 October 2026. This is a fact check, not a rating.

  • No FDA warning letter names Modern Aminos, as of 3 October 2026.
  • Freedom Diagnostics' public lookup lists 359 Modern Aminos certificates, received September 2025 to September 2026.
  • Finnrick passed 5 of 6 Modern Aminos retatrutide samples, a 79% rating that ranks it 114th of 457 vendors.
  • Its Garden City, Idaho address matches a virtual-office service, and no owner is named.
  • Its last archived refund policy, from September 2025, took no returns on peptides.

Modern Aminos has no FDA warning letter on record, and its testing lab hosts 359 of its batch certificates on the lab’s own site. Finnrick passed 5 of its 6 retatrutide samples. Against that, its Idaho address matches a virtual-office service, the Wyoming company in its name sits at a registered agent, and no owner is named.

I ran my peptide vendor checklist against modernaminos.com on 3 October 2026. The site now hides its catalogue behind a login. When I visited, it showed a “verify you are human” check, which I did not complete.

The company’s own wording below therefore comes from dated Internet Archive copies of its pages, and its policies may have changed since. The lab records, Finnrick’s results, state records and FDA’s index are as of 3 October 2026. There is no star rating or score.

Is Modern Aminos still operating, and which site is real?

Modern Aminos sells research-labelled peptides from modernaminos.com, a domain registered on 25 November 2022. Finnrick lists that domain as the vendor’s site. The business looked active in late September 2026:

  • Freedom Diagnostics reported on a Modern Aminos sample on 18 September 2026, and its lookup lists certificates received as late as 23 September 2026.
  • The Internet Archive captured the homepage on 21 September 2026, with a login screen and the research-use notice.
  • On 3 October 2026 the site answered with a Cloudflare bot check.

The homepage says EU orders go through a separate site, modernaminos.eu, which does not carry exactly the same products.

Two other names turn up in the same searches. A lookalike domain, modern-aminoz.com, was registered on 4 August 2026 and returned a server error when I tried it. Modified Aminos is a different name, and this page does not cover it.

Trustpilot no longer shows Modern Aminos. Its page for modernaminos.com says the business “goes against our guidelines and is no longer visible on Trustpilot”, without a reason on that page.

FDA and Justice Department record

I searched FDA’s warning-letter index on 3 October 2026 for “Modern Aminos”, “modernaminos” and “modernaminos.com”. No letter names the company. The Justice Department’s news search found no item naming it either. A clean record can’t show that a seller is lawful or safe.

FDA has acted against sellers of similar products. On 24 August 2026 it told another seller, Peak Performance Peptides, that its “GLP-3R” (retatrutide) was an unapproved new drug despite “research use only” labels. The letter cited drug claims on that seller’s site. It also cited the sale of bacteriostatic water for reconstitution as evidence of intended human use. Modern Aminos sells retatrutide under code names, and its September 2025 menu listed “Bac Water”. Research peptides and US law explains what the label does and doesn’t do.

Certificates of analysis, checked with the lab

The September 2026 homepage says each product “undergoes third-party, multi-vial batch testing to verify purity, compound identity, quantity, and endotoxin levels”. It adds that every vial carries a unique batch number, and its FAQ mentions a QR code on each vial linking to the reports. The site pages I could read don’t name the lab. In November 2025 the FAQ said only that products “undergo HPLC testing at a reputable 3rd party lab”.

The certificates name it: Freedom Diagnostics of Franklin, Tennessee, whose site says it has no vendor affiliations. Its public lookup lists 359 certificates under the client name “Modern Aminos”, received between 23 September 2025 and 23 September 2026. About 1 in 5 carry “GLP” names such as “GLP-3 RT”, “GLP/GIP/Glucagon” and “GLP/GIP”; tesamorelin and BPC-157 products are the next most common. Others use names such as “MA-2TZ” (identity listed as “GLP TZ”) and “Cagrisema Sodium”. The certificates don’t name the molecules.

One I read on Freedom’s server:

  • MA-3RT 30mg, lot BX-P-G3W3, received 16 September 2026 and reported 18 September 2026. It reports 99.93% purity by HPLC across 3 samples, identity by LC-MS (listed as “GLP RT”), and an average of 31.89 mg in vials labelled 30 mg. Endotoxin, microbial (PCR) and heavy-metal screens pass, and no fentanyl was detected.

The shop is behind a login, so I could not match that lot to a product listing. How to read a peptide COA covers what to match on a certificate.

Finnrick’s independent tests

Finnrick publishes lab results on samples it buys or that buyers send in. Its Modern Aminos page reports 6 tests, all of retatrutide, between 20 June 2025 and 20 July 2026. Five passed its standard (purity of 99.5% or more, dose within 35%). The test of 9 July 2025 failed.

Finnrick sums up: “recent samples show high purity and near-label fill after an earlier severe identity failure.” Its rating is 79%, 114th of 457 vendors. The summary of Finnrick’s June 2026 report on the vendor adds:

“Corporate records route Modern Aminos through a Wyoming LLC at a mass registered-agent address while the named operator trail points to Idaho.”

Who can buy, and the research-only label

As of the September 2026 capture, the homepage says it now requires “researchers to log in to their user account in order to view our full selection”. The sign-up form asks for a business type, from “Researcher” and “Laboratory” to “Cosmetic Research” and “Chemical Supply”. Its November 2025 terms asked buyers to confirm they are “AT LEAST 21 YEARS OF AGE”. I found nothing saying how the business type is checked.

The research-only notice is clear. It says products “should not be used for any form of in vivo experimentation or for any other non-laboratory purpose”. I found no doses or disease claims in the archived pages I read.

Other pages sit less comfortably with that notice:

  • The September 2025 menu listed SARMs, “Cognitive Compounds”, “Topicals” and “Bac Water” alongside peptides.
  • A November 2025 site banner read “BPC-157/TB-500 Transdermal Now In Stock!”, a product made to go on skin.
  • The November 2025 FAQ said Modern Aminos “operates in accordance with regulatory standards, including Section 503A” of the federal drug law. FDA describes section 503A as covering compounding “by a licensed pharmacist in a state-licensed pharmacy, or federal facility, or by a physician”. I found no pharmacy, pharmacist or licence named on the pages I read.

Item 7 of my checklist looks for signs that a seller expects human use. A transdermal product is one even without a dose, so I mark this item a partial fail.

Retatrutide, sold here under code names, is an experimental drug that is not FDA-approved for any use; see my retatrutide guide.

Where is Modern Aminos located?

The September 2026 homepage footer lists “Modern Aminos, 9169 W State St #1451, Garden City, Idaho 83714” and an email address, with no phone number. PhysicalAddress.com, a virtual-office company, offers “9169 W State St. Suite #000, Garden City, ID 83714” as its Idaho business address. So #1451 reads as a mailbox number at a virtual office.

A Wyoming company, Modern Aminos LLC (filing 2022-001188664), is active. Its registered and mailing address is 30 N Gould St, Ste R, Sheridan, the address of its agent, Registered Agents Inc. In November 2025 the site’s footer gave that same Sheridan building, as “30 N Gould st ste 41270”, with a phone number. The site pages I read don’t name a legal entity or an owner.

Payments, shipping and returns

In November 2025 the FAQ listed four payment options: CashApp, “US Credit/Debit Cards (via digital gift certificate)”, cryptocurrency and Zelle. It explained that payment methods change because “certain payment processors are not able to or become not able to work with us”. CashApp, Zelle and cryptocurrency payments generally can’t be reversed the way a card charge can. The terms then in force said “CHARGE-BACKS WILL BE SENT TO OUR COLLECTIONS AGENCY”.

The September 2026 homepage says orders usually ship within 1 to 2 business days, the same day if placed before 4 PM Central. US delivery generally takes 2 business days and occasionally up to 5.

The refund policy archived in September 2025 said “We do not accept returns of peptides due to possible product degradation”, with limited returns for damaged products. An accepted return was refunded minus shipping and a 15% restocking fee. A package lost before delivery would be reshipped free; one marked delivered would not. Chargebacks, it said, “will be treated as fraud against our company”. Confirm the current policies before you order.

How to check any peptide vendor

I don’t rank vendors or name a most trustworthy company. These checks work on any seller:

  1. Look up its certificates with the testing lab, using the code on the certificate.
  2. Check that the lot number on the certificate matches your vial.
  3. Look for a named owner and a street address that isn’t a mailbox.
  4. Pay by card where you can, and read the chargeback terms first.
  5. Search FDA’s warning letters for the seller’s name.
  6. Check the domain. Lookalike shops copy well-known names.

Common questions

Is Modern Aminos legit?

Modern Aminos has no FDA warning letter on record as of 3 October 2026. Freedom Diagnostics hosts 359 of its batch certificates on the lab's own site. Finnrick passed 5 of its 6 retatrutide samples. Against that, its address is a virtual office, no owner is named, and its last archived policies took no returns on peptides and treated chargebacks as fraud. The scorecard on this page sources each point.

Is Modern Aminos the same as Modified Aminos?

No. Modified Aminos is a different name that shows up in the same searches, and this page does not cover it. Modern Aminos trades at modernaminos.com, a domain registered in November 2022. A lookalike domain, modern-aminoz.com, was registered in August 2026 and returned a server error when I tried it on 3 October 2026.

Can anyone buy from Modern Aminos?

You need an account. As of September 2026 its homepage required visitors to log in or register before viewing the catalogue. The sign-up form asks for a business type, such as researcher, laboratory or cosmetic research, and agreement to its terms. Its November 2025 terms also asked buyers to confirm they are at least 21. I found nothing saying how the business type is checked.

Does Modern Aminos test its products?

Its homepage says each product undergoes third-party, multi-vial batch testing for purity, identity, quantity and endotoxin, and that each vial carries a batch number and QR code. The site pages I could read do not name the lab, but the certificates do. It is Freedom Diagnostics in Franklin, Tennessee, and its public lookup lists 359 Modern Aminos certificates.

Does Modern Aminos sell retatrutide?

Yes, under code names. Its certificates at Freedom Diagnostics use names such as GLP-3 RT and MA-3RT, and Finnrick tested 6 Modern Aminos samples as retatrutide. Other certificates carry names such as GLP/GIP and MA-2TZ without naming the molecule. Retatrutide is an experimental drug and is not FDA-approved for any use.

What is the Modern Aminos return policy?

Its refund policy, as archived in September 2025, said it does not accept returns of peptides because of possible degradation, and accepts limited returns of damaged products. An accepted return is refunded minus shipping and a 15% restocking fee. The live policy is behind a bot check, so check it before you order.

Which peptide company has shut down?

Peptide Sciences' own homepage says it has decided to voluntarily shut down operations and stop selling its research products. The vendors page on this site lists the other sellers I know of that have closed or changed hands. Modern Aminos is not one of them: its lab certificates run to 23 September 2026.

What is the most trustworthy peptide company?

I do not rank vendors, because no regulator checks what research peptide sellers ship. To judge one yourself, look for batch certificates you can confirm with the lab and independent test results. Also look for a street address, a named owner, card payments, no dosing claims and no FDA warning letter. The vendor checklist on this site walks through each step.

Does Peptide Decode recommend Modern Aminos?

No. Peptide Decode has no connection to Modern Aminos, and this page does not rate, rank or recommend it or any other vendor. It reports sourced facts against a published checklist so you can judge the company yourself.
