Sermorelin dosage calculator

Work out Sermorelin concentration, draw volume and U-100 syringe units. It starts on a 10 mg vial with 1.5 mL of water and 400 mcg - which is 6 units - as an example; change any number.

Your vial

Printed on the vial. There is no standard size - enter what yours says.

This changes how much you draw - never how many doses the vial holds.

100 units per mL. 1 unit = 0.01 mL. This is what almost every insulin syringe sold is, in every barrel size.

Barrel size

Capacity only. A 1 mL U-100 syringe holds 100 units - the scale decides that, not the barrel.

Sermorelin dosing

The common Sermorelin protocol is 200-600 mcg, once nightly; most protocols run 5-7 nights a week, some as 5 days on/2 off - common practice, not trial-established. The evidence, side effects and where each figure comes from are on theSermorelin dosage page.

Common questions

What size vials does Sermorelin come in?

Sermorelin is sold in 5 mg and 10 mg vials - each size listed by at least one vendor or label page I checked (see the vial pages linked below). This calculator starts on the 10 mg vial as an example; enter any size.

How much bacteriostatic water do I add to a 10 mg Sermorelin vial?

There is no single correct amount: water changes how many units a dose is, not how many doses the vial holds. 1.5 mL makes 6.67 mg/mL; 3 mL makes 3.33 mg/mL; 5 mL makes 2 mg/mL. With 1.5 mL, 400 mcg is 6 units (0.06 mL) on a U-100 insulin syringe.

How many units is 400 mcg of Sermorelin?

It depends on the vial size and the water added. In a 10 mg vial mixed with 1.5 mL, 400 mcg is 6 units (0.06 mL) on a U-100 syringe (100 units = 1 mL).

How many doses are in a Sermorelin vial?

A 5 mg vial holds 12 doses of 400 mcg; A 10 mg vial holds 25 doses of 400 mcg. Adding more water does not change this.

What is the common Sermorelin dose?

The common protocol is 200-600 mcg, once nightly; most protocols run 5-7 nights a week, some as 5 days on/2 off - common practice described by clinic and vendor dosing guides, not a dose established in trials.

Is Sermorelin legal and approved?

US status: Unapproved drug. No FDA-approved sermorelin is marketed today. It was first approved in 1990 as GEREF (NDA 19-863, a 0.05 mg ampule for testing the pituitary's ability to release growth hormone), then in 1997 (NDA 20-443, 0.5 mg and 1 mg vials for idiopathic growth hormone deficiency in children with growth failure), both held by EMD Serono. The sponsor discontinued both in 2008, and FDA withdrew both approvals effective 18 June 2009. FDA formally determined in 2013 that they were not withdrawn for reasons of safety or effectiveness. Supplied today through compounding pharmacies; requires a prescriber.
