BPC-157 Benefits: What the Research Has Found

BPC-157 has one of the largest healing literatures in animal research. What those studies found, how small the human record is, and how to read the gap.

BPC-157 has an unusually large animal literature on tissue healing, across tendon, gut and muscle models, which is why interest in it runs so high. The human record is far smaller, and reviews state that efficacy in people is not yet confirmed. It is not approved for human use, and legality and purity matter as much as the biology.

BPC-157 benefits are described online with more confidence than the research supports, and with less curiosity than the research deserves. Both of those are true at once, so this page separates them.

Start with what exists, because it is substantial. A review of the musculoskeletal literature describes BPC-157 accelerating soft-tissue healing across the published models. Then the part the product pages skip. BPC stands for body protection compound, which is the name researchers gave it rather than a benefit demonstrated in anyone. Those models are overwhelmingly small rodents, and the reviews are explicit about what that leaves unsettled.

What the reviews say

A 2025 review states BPC-157 has not been approved by the FDA and other authorities due to the absence of sufficient and comprehensive clinical studies confirming health benefits in humans.
