TB-500 Dosage Chart and Calculator: Common Protocol, Animal Data

TB-500 dosage chart: units per dose by vial size for the 2-2.5 mg common protocol, a calculator, and the only published dose data, from a rat study.

The short version

No published human trial of TB-500 (the seven-amino-acid heptapeptide, not full-length thymosin beta-4) exists, so no trial or regulator has established a dose. Vendor dosing guides most often describe 2-2.5 mg by subcutaneous injection, twice weekly for a 4-6 week loading phase, then once weekly for maintenance. That is common practice, not trial-established. The only other dosing data is from a rat tendon-healing study. It used a much smaller daily microgram-per-kilogram amount for four weeks, and it cannot be converted into a human dose.

  • The common practice protocol is 2-2.5 mg subcutaneous, twice weekly for a 4-6 week loading phase, then once weekly. It is not trial-established.
  • No published human trial of the TB-500 fragment exists at any dose, for any indication.
  • The only trial dosing data is from a rat tendon study, and its dose cannot be scaled to a human one.
  • A retrospective human chart review used TB-500 combined with BPC-157 for knee pain, but did not report a dose.

TB-500 has no approved dose. Unlike some research peptides on this site, it has no small published human study behind it either. This page gives the protocol vendor dosing guides commonly describe and the one animal dose in the published record. It also explains why the animal number cannot become a human dose. For what TB-500 is and why it is not the same molecule as thymosin beta-4, see the main TB-500 guide.

US legal status - Research use only

TB-500 has no FDA-approved product, no approved dose, and no published human trial of any kind.

AU legal status - Not on the ARTG

Schedule 4 (prescription only) under the Poisons Standard, with no registered product on the ARTG.

Regulators reach their own conclusions on their own timelines. Where these two disagree, the difference is the point - not an error.

TB-500 dosage: the common protocol

Vendor dosing guides most often describe 2-2.5 mg by subcutaneous injection, twice weekly for a 4-6 week loading phase, then once weekly for maintenance. A 4-6 week break follows a full maintenance course. This is common practice, not a dose any trial or regulator has established.

Sources describe a two-phase protocol: a loading phase to saturate tissue, then a lower-dose maintenance phase. Maintenance can continue indefinitely or every other week; sources describe cycling off entirely for 4-6 weeks after a full maintenance course before restarting if needed. Source upgrade pass (2026-09-27): added Perfect B, a real named aesthetic-medicine clinic (Valeria Marulanda, FNP-BC, NPI 1841152584, Doral FL) that prescribes TB-500. It doses TB-500 within a combined BPC-157+TB-500 blend vial titrated by the provider rather than stating a standalone TB-500 mg figure, and uses a different cycling pattern (5 days on/2 off, up to 3 cycles, then a 2-month break) than the loading/maintenance pattern the other two sources describe - so it was kept as a third source confirming real clinical use and the BPC-157 pairing, without being used to override the specific mg/loading-maintenance numbers below, which still rest on the two sources that state them explicitly.

Plan a cycle in the protocol builder or work out injection volume in the dosage calculator.

The common TB-500 dose is 2-2.5 mg, twice weekly during a 4-6 week loading phase, then once weekly (or every two weeks) for maintenance. From a 10 mg vial mixed with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water, 2.5 mg is 50 units (0.5 mL) on a U-100 insulin syringe.

No published human study exists

I could not locate a published human trial of the TB-500 heptapeptide, at any dose, for any indication. The main TB-500 guide reaches the same conclusion about efficacy. The number is zero, not a small one. So no human “dosing protocol” for TB-500 can be traced to a study this page could fetch and verify.

The closest thing to a human data point is a retrospective chart review of knee-pain patients. In it, 4 of 17 received “BPC-157+TB4” combined injections, alongside 12 who received BPC-157 alone Biçer 2026 - Biçer O, Adanir O, Güleryüz Y et al. Effects of BPC-157 and TB-500 on Achilles tendon healing in rats: A histopathological and biomechanical study. Jt Dis Relat Surg. 2026;37(3):822-837., in the references below. The paper reports no dose for either compound. It also does not say whether “TB4” means the TB-500 fragment or the full-length protein, so this page cannot report it as TB-500 dosing evidence. I mention it only so a reader who has seen it cited elsewhere knows why I am not building on it.

TB-500 doses used in animal studies

A rat Achilles tendon-transection study Biçer 2026 - Biçer O, Adanir O, Güleryüz Y et al. Effects of BPC-157 and TB-500 on Achilles tendon healing in rats: A histopathological and biomechanical study. Jt Dis Relat Surg. 2026;37(3):822-837., in the references below gave TB-500 at 60 micrograms per kilogram of body weight per day, by intraperitoneal injection, for four weeks after surgery. It used 32 Sprague-Dawley rats (8 per group).

  • The TB-500 group had a significantly higher maximum load to failure than untreated controls.
  • It also had significantly better histopathology (Bonar and Movin) scores, indicating improved tendon architecture in the rat model.
  • The study tested BPC-157 at a different dose (see the BPC-157 dosage page). The combination offered no additional benefit over TB-500 alone.

What is not established

  • No human dose exists, at any level, for any indication, because no published human trial of TB-500 exists.
  • No human safety data exists. With zero human trials, there is nothing to say about tolerability, adverse events, or interactions in people.
  • No human half-life is established. I located no published human pharmacokinetic study of TB-500.
  • The common protocol above is current vendor practice, not a trial finding. Each source is recorded, but no trial or regulator has established that dose.

Reconstitution and injection volume: use the calculator

There is no human dose on this page to convert into an injection volume. If you are working out concentration or draw volume for a vial regardless, use a dedicated tool. The dosage calculator walks through vial strength, diluent volume and target amount. It does the math but does not tell you what amount to target.

Who should not use it

No FDA-reviewed contraindication list exists, because TB-500 has never been the subject of a published human trial, let alone a regulatory review. With zero human data, there is nothing regulator-reviewed to weigh against pregnancy, breastfeeding, children, any diagnosed medical condition, or use alongside other medications. That absence of data is a reason for caution, not a reason to assume safety.

TB-500 side effects and risks

The main risk this page can document is the total absence of human evidence: no human trial, no human safety data, and no established human half-life. Material sold as TB-500 is a research chemical with no regulator-verified purity, identity or concentration.

TB-500 is also prohibited at all times in sport under the WADA 2026 Prohibited List, section S2.3, grouped with thymosin beta-4 and its derivatives. That grouping reflects risk of misuse, not a claim that the two molecules behave alike.

Common questions

What is the usual TB-500 dose?

Vendor dosing guides most often describe a two-phase protocol. It is 2-2.5 mg by subcutaneous injection, twice weekly, for a 4-6 week loading phase, then once weekly (or every two weeks) for maintenance. After a full maintenance course comes a 4-6 week break before restarting. That is common practice reported by vendor pages, not a dose established by any trial or regulator. The next question explains why no trial data exists.

What dose of TB-500 have human studies used?

None that this page could locate. There is no published human trial of the TB-500 heptapeptide, at any dose, for any indication. A retrospective chart review of 17 knee-pain patients included 4 who received BPC-157 combined with "TB4" alongside 12 on BPC-157 alone. The paper does not state the dose, and it is not possible to confirm whether "TB4" means the TB-500 fragment or full-length thymosin beta-4.

Is there an FDA-approved TB-500 dose?

No. TB-500 has no FDA-approved product, no approved indication, and no dose that any regulator has established as safe or effective, human or otherwise.

What dose was used in animal studies?

A rat Achilles tendon study gave what it labeled TB-500 at 60 micrograms per kilogram of body weight per day, by intraperitoneal injection, for four weeks after surgical injury. The paper calls the substance "synthetic thymosin beta-4 (TB-500)" and chose the dose from thymosin-beta-4 dose-finding data. This page cannot confirm the material was the TB-500 fragment rather than the full-length protein. Either way, it is a rat dose in one injury model, not a human dose, and there is no accepted way to convert it into one.

Can I use the same doses people cite for thymosin beta-4?

No. This is the most important caution on this page. TB-500 is a seven-amino-acid fragment, and thymosin beta-4 is the 43-amino-acid full-length protein. Evidence on the full-length protein, including any dosing, does not automatically transfer to the fragment. The main TB-500 guide explains why the two are not interchangeable.

How do I work out reconstitution and injection volume?

That is arithmetic about a specific vial and diluent, not a dosing decision, and no trial has set a human dose. The dosage chart on this page gives units for the common protocol by vial size. The dosage calculator handles concentration and draw-volume math for any amount but does not tell you what dose to use.

Who should not use TB-500?

No FDA-reviewed contraindication list exists, because no human trial of TB-500 has been published. With zero human data, there is nothing regulator-reviewed to weigh against pregnancy, breastfeeding, any diagnosed condition, or use alongside other medications.

What are the main risks?

The main risk is the absence of any published human study. There is no human safety data and no human half-life. Material sold as a research chemical has no verified purity, identity or concentration. TB-500 is also prohibited at all times in sport under the WADA Prohibited List.

When should I stop and get medical care?

Get emergency care (call 911 in the US) for a severe allergic reaction, chest pain, severe injection-site infection, or any symptom that feels dangerous. Call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 if you have taken an unknown or excessive amount of anything sold as TB-500. None of this replaces a clinician who knows your history.
