DSIP Dosage Chart and Calculator: Protocol, 1992 Study Dose

DSIP dosage chart: units per dose by vial size for the 100-500 mcg common protocol, a calculator, and the 1992 insomnia trial dose (25 nmol/kg IV).

The short version

DSIP has no approved dose, because it has no approved product. The clearest published sleep dose is 25 nmol per kilogram of body weight, given intravenously on three separate afternoons to 16 chronic insomniacs in a 1992 trial. Every human study used intravenous injection, not the subcutaneous route DSIP is sold and injected by today. Clinic and vendor guides describe 100-500 mcg subcutaneously once nightly, 30-60 minutes before bed, from about 5 nights a month up to nightly, in cycles of roughly 4-12 weeks. That is common practice, not a dose any trial or regulator has established.

  • The clearest published sleep-trial dose is 25 nmol/kg, given intravenously, on three afternoons, in a 1992 trial of 16 chronic insomniacs.
  • Clinic and vendor guides describe 100-500 mcg SC nightly, 30-60 min before bed, 4-12 week cycles, no fixed break - common practice, sources differ.
  • That trial found the effects weak and concluded short-term DSIP was not likely to be of major therapeutic benefit.
  • The study route was intravenous infusion, not the subcutaneous injection DSIP is sold and used for today.

DSIP has no approved dose, because it has no approved product. This page gives the protocol that clinic and vendor dosing guides commonly describe for subcutaneous use. It then reports what small, decades-old studies gave their own participants by a different route. Neither is a recommendation. For the wider literature and why the field has largely gone quiet, see the main DSIP guide.

US legal status - Research use only

DSIP is not approved for human use anywhere and is sold as a research chemical, where the contents of the vial are not verified.

DSIP dosage: the common protocol

Clinic and vendor dosing guides describe 100-500 mcg of DSIP by subcutaneous injection, once nightly, 30-60 minutes before intended sleep onset. The schedule runs from about 5 nights a month up to nightly use, depending on the protocol. Cycles are individualized and last roughly 4-12 weeks, with no fixed break stated between them.

This is common practice, not a dose any trial or regulator has established, and sources differ on the exact cadence and cycle length.

Dropped The Peptide Catalog (a content-farm aggregator) and added a named clinic, Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center, which sells a standalone DSIP protocol and a Semax/Selank/DSIP blend product. BHRC does not publish a fixed mcg-per-injection dose (dosing is set at consultation), so the dose range still traces to the remaining vendor source (100-500 mcg). BHRC's 4-8 week initial cycles (extending to 12+ weeks) replace the dropped source's fixed 8-on/8-off cycle, and since neither remaining source states a specific break length, breakWeeks is now null rather than the old fixed 8 weeks. dosesPerWeek is widened to 1-7 to cover the vendor's 5-14-nights-a-month pattern together with BHRC's 'nightly to several times per week' description. commonlyPairedWith drops Epitalon (no longer supported by a kept source) and keeps Ipamorelin and CJC-1295 (vendor) plus Selank, now directly confirmed by BHRC's own DSIP+Selank+Semax blend product.

DSIP doses used in human studies

Two published reports dosed DSIP for sleep, and only one states its dose in the abstract.

Other human studies dosed DSIP intravenously to measure hormones or anaesthetic depth, not sleep.

The insomnia trial’s own conclusion was modest. DSIP produced higher measured sleep efficiency and shorter sleep latency than placebo, and one measure of subjective tiredness improved. The authors judged the effects weak and concluded that short-term DSIP treatment “is not likely to be of major therapeutic benefit” for chronic insomnia.

The 1994 study used the same 25 nmol/kg intravenous dose in healthy men, to measure vasopressin and ACTH secretion, not sleep. A 1989 study gave it to 11 healthy men to measure ACTH Bjartell 1989 - Bjartell A, Ekman R, Bergquist S et al. Reduction of immunoreactive ACTH in plasma following intravenous injection of delta sleep-inducing peptide in man. Psychoneuroendocrinology. 1989;14(5):347-55., in the references below. So the dose appears more than once in the human literature, but that does not make it an established dose for sleep.

The route does not match how DSIP is sold

Every human study above used intravenous administration, delivered by clinical staff under monitoring. DSIP marketed online today is typically sold for subcutaneous self-injection on a repeating nightly schedule, which is the protocol described above.

No published study has tested that route, that frequency, or that duration. The common protocol comes from clinic and vendor dosing guides, not from any study in the table.

What is not established

  • No approved dose exists, for any population, indication, route, or duration, because no DSIP product has completed FDA review.
  • No repeated subcutaneous dosing schedule has been studied and published. The sleep studies used three or four intravenous injections under laboratory conditions, not a self-administered ongoing regimen.
  • No human half-life is established for repeated dosing, so there is no evidence-based basis for how often a self-injected dose should be spaced.
  • The common protocol above is current practice, not a trial finding. It comes from clinic and vendor dosing guides, each recorded as a source, not from a human trial or a regulator. Those guides disagree with each other on the exact dose and cadence.

How to reconstitute DSIP

Turning a target amount into an injection volume depends on exactly how a specific vial was reconstituted, and this page cannot know that for any given vial. The dosage calculator walks through vial strength, diluent volume and target amount. It performs the math; it does not tell you what dose to use.

Who should not use it

No FDA-reviewed contraindication list exists, because DSIP has never gone through that review. None of the published human studies reports following participants beyond a few days. So there is no long-term safety data covering pregnancy, breastfeeding, children, interactions with other medications, or use alongside any diagnosed condition. Self-directing an unapproved compound with no FDA-reviewed label and no long-term safety record is a poor idea in any of those situations.

DSIP side effects and risks

The main risk is the size of the gap in the data. The sleep trial with a published dose ran for five days under laboratory monitoring, decades ago, in 16 people. The other human studies gave single or a few intravenous doses.

In a 2009 anaesthesia study Pomfrett 2009 - Pomfrett CJ, Dolling S, Anders NR et al. Delta sleep-inducing peptide alters bispectral index, the electroencephalogram and heart rate variability when used as an adjunct to isoflurane anaesthesia. Eur J Anaesthesiol. 2009;26(2):128-34., in the references below, intravenous DSIP significantly increased heart rate and reduced heart rate variability.

No long-term human safety study exists at any dose, and no human half-life is established. Material sold as a research chemical carries no regulator-verified purity, identity, or concentration.

Common questions

What is the usual DSIP dose?

Clinic and vendor dosing guides describe 100-500 mcg of DSIP by subcutaneous injection, once nightly, 30-60 minutes before intended sleep onset. The schedule runs from about 5 nights a month up to nightly use, in individualized cycles of roughly 4-12 weeks with no fixed break stated between them. Sources differ on the exact cadence and cycle length. This is common practice reported by dosing guides, not a dose established by any human trial or regulator. The published sleep studies used a different route (intravenous).

What dose of DSIP was used in human studies?

The clearest sleep dose comes from a 1992 double-blind trial. It gave 25 nmol per kilogram of body weight intravenously to 16 chronic insomniac patients, on the afternoon before three separate nights. A 1983 summary of five double-blind intravenous studies, including insomniacs given four consecutive injections, does not state its dose in the abstract. Hormone studies in healthy volunteers between 1989 and 1995 gave single intravenous doses (25 nmol/kg, 25 micrograms/kg, or 3-4 mg in total). A 2009 anaesthesia study gave 25-100 nmol/kg intravenously. None of these looked at the subcutaneous use DSIP is sold for.

Is there an FDA-approved DSIP dose?

No. DSIP has no FDA-approved product, no approved indication, and no dose established as safe or effective by any regulator. The figures on this page describe what small, decades-old studies gave their own participants, not a recommendation.

Does the study dose match how DSIP is sold today?

No, and this is the central gap. The 1992 trial gave DSIP as an intravenous infusion on three separate afternoons, under laboratory monitoring. DSIP sold online today is typically injected subcutaneously, on a repeating daily or nightly schedule, which nobody has published a study of. The route, frequency and duration a vendor describes are not the ones any study tested.

How do I work out reconstitution and injection volume?

That is arithmetic about a specific vial and diluent, and this page cannot know your vial. The dosage calculator works out concentration and draw volume for the amount you enter. It does the math; it does not tell you what dose to use.

Who should not use DSIP?

No FDA-reviewed contraindication list exists, because DSIP has never gone through that review. There is no published long-term human safety data. Anyone who is pregnant, breastfeeding, on other medications, or has a diagnosed medical condition has no regulator-reviewed information to weigh a decision against.

What are the main risks?

The main risk is the size of the gap in the data. The human record is a handful of small, decades-old intravenous studies. The sleep trial with a published dose had 16 people. No human half-life is established for repeated dosing. Material sold as a research chemical carries no verified purity, identity or concentration.

When should I stop and get medical care?

Get emergency care, and call 911 in the US, for a severe allergic reaction, chest pain, fainting, or any symptom that feels dangerous. Call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 if you have taken an unknown or excessive amount of anything sold as DSIP. None of this replaces a clinician who knows your history.
