Buy GHK-Cu: Serums, Clinic Injections and Research Vials

Checked, not rated · Updated 3 October 2026

GHK-Cu is sold legally as a cosmetic ingredient in copper peptide serums and creams, but no GHK-Cu drug is FDA-approved. The Ordinary's 1% copper peptide serum costs $32 for 30 mL, and research vials start at $24.99 (Next Level Pharm, 50 mg vial), as of 3 October 2026.

Where GHK-Cu is sold legally

US status: No FDA-approved GHK-Cu drug exists; topical GHK-Cu (Copper Tripeptide-1) is sold lawfully as a cosmetic, and FDA leaves injectable GHK-Cu out of its compounding Category 1.

Prescription needed? Not for creams and serums. Injectable GHK-Cu from a licensed route needs a prescription after a provider evaluation.

Copper peptide serum or cream (cosmetic)

Legal route

Sold over the counter as a cosmetic. FDA says cosmetics, apart from colour additives, need no FDA approval before sale, but a claim that a product will 'regenerate cells' makes it a drug.

Oral tablets and nasal spray sold as supplements

Legal status unclear

Neurogan sells these as supplements. FDA defines a dietary supplement as a product intended for ingestion, which a nasal spray is not, and I found no FDA statement on whether GHK-Cu is a lawful dietary ingredient.

Injectable GHK-Cu by prescription (compounded)

Legal status unclear

Sellers say a 503A pharmacy compounds it and that it is not FDA-approved. FDA's 503A Category 1 entry excludes injectable GHK-Cu, the injectable nomination was withdrawn, and FDA warns compounded injectable GHK-Cu may pose a risk for immunogenicity; it plans to consult its compounding advisory committee before the end of February 2027.

Research vials of GHK-Cu (labelled not for human use)

Research vials hold the same molecule as a freeze-dried powder labelled not for human use, so they are neither a cosmetic nor a prescription. Rx Peps Direct's 50 mg prescription vial names the 503A pharmacy that compounds it; a research vial names no pharmacy and involves no prescriber. FDA's December 2024 warning letter to Summit Research Peptides said 'research use only' labels did not stop its products being drugs for human use.

A research vial is not the cosmetic, supplement or clinic product above. It is labelled not for human use, and the seller chooses how each batch is tested.

The checklist results come from my review of each vendor and cover the whole store. A vendor can publish COAs for some products and not others. The order is not a ranking.

Research GHK-Cu capsules

Capsules are taken by mouth and are a different product from the vial. The vial's COA does not cover them, so ask for a COA for the capsule batch. They carry the same research-use-only label.

What a research GHK-Cu COA should show

A certificate of analysis (COA) is the lab report for one batch. For GHK-Cu, check these:

  • Identity by mass spectrometry, with the expected and the measured mass side by side. For GHK-Cu, expect about 402.92 Da (C14H23CuN6O4+); the sequence is 3 amino acids, GHK.
  • Purity by HPLC for this batch, shown as a chromatogram as well as a percentage.
  • A lot number that matches your vial or pack, the test date and the lab's name, so you can confirm the certificate on the lab's own site.

A purity figure does not cover sterility or bacterial endotoxins; a COA covers those only if it reports separate tests for them. Line by line: how to read a peptide COA.

Red flags when buying research GHK-Cu

  • A research vial presented as a pharmacy, clinic or cosmetic product.
  • No certificate of analysis for the batch you will receive, or one without a lot number or a named lab.
  • Dosing instructions or treatment claims for people on the product page.
  • An FDA warning letter naming the seller. Search fda.gov before you pay.
  • No way to pay with buyer protection, such as a credit card.

Common questions

Can you legally buy GHK-Cu?

Yes, as a cosmetic: copper peptide serums and creams need no FDA approval before sale. Injectable GHK-Cu is sold on prescription by telehealth services that say a 503A pharmacy compounds it, though FDA leaves injectable GHK-Cu out of Category 1. Research vials are labelled not for human use.

Do I need a prescription for GHK-Cu?

Not for creams and serums: The Ordinary's 1% serum ($32, 30 mL), NIOD's CAIS3 ($62, 15 mL) and Neurogan's 4% serum ($51, 30 mL) are sold over the counter (3 October 2026). Injections from a licensed route need one; RegenMD charges a $50 provider evaluation and sends the prescription to a 503A pharmacy.

What is the best GHK-Cu on the market?

No product has been shown to work better than another, and I found no human dose-response data for topical GHK-Cu. Serums that state a percentage are easier to compare: The Ordinary lists 1% Copper Tripeptide-1, and NIOD lists 1% GHK-Cu plus 1% GHK.

How much does a GHK-Cu peptide injection cost?

As of 3 October 2026: Rx Peps Direct $80 per 50 mg vial plus a $39 visit and $15 shipping; LegitPep from $169 a month with a consultation; Pure Hydration, a Florida med spa, says $150 to $300 a month. All three say compounded GHK-Cu is not FDA-approved.

Is GHK-Cu worth buying?

The one randomised trial of topical GHK-Cu, after laser resurfacing, found no significant improvement in wrinkles or skin quality on objective measures; only patient ratings favoured it. Serums with a stated percentage cost $32 to $93 for 30 mL, and injectable programmes start at $80 a vial plus fees.

Where can I buy GHK-Cu?

The legal routes I checked: Copper peptide serum or cream (cosmetic). Legal status unclear: Oral tablets and nasal spray sold as supplements; Injectable GHK-Cu by prescription (compounded). The Ordinary's 1% copper peptide serum costs $32 for 30 mL (as of 3 October 2026). Research vendors also sell research vials (Next Level Pharm, Spartan Peptides and BioEdge Research Labs), labelled not for human use.
